Matt Damon is Strong and Silent

Matt Damon is one of the most consistent actors in the industry. Though his biggest hit would be The Bourne Trilogy, it has been said that his best work can be seen in The Talented Mr. Ripley. He was put in an extreme role where he had to display a lot of self-control amidst much internal struggle. His solemnity gave out such a chilling coldness appropriate to the atmosphere of his movies.

Why Matt Damon’s performance is given immense praise in that movie is because of the silence that surrounded his violence. The same would go for most of his roles, regardless of some films being action movies. He would play roles very subtly, as opposed to some mainstream actors who would have gone over the top. Matt Damon hardly ever raises his voice, cracks his knuckles or displays signs of aggression unless in a fight sequence.
